My experience with Alpine Ridge Adventures was awesome! I grew up hiking and love the outdoors, but since getting started in my career I have not made that love the priority it should be. I never did overnight backpacking, I always just did day trips and honestly was intimidated by the time it would take to plan a trip and the cost to buy all my own equipment. Alpine Ridge Adventures, and Jared in particular, changed all that! Jared was awesome throughout the entire process and took the time to get to know what I wanted out of my trip. He also was thorough in explaining his method, what equipment the company provided and why that was the product they went with. Every time I spoke with Jared, I could tell he was a true expert and that this wasn't just a job for him but a passion. Throughout the trip, Jared showed his expertise in local flora and fauna and breathtaking hidden vistas and valleys. I had such an awesome experience and cannot recommend Alpine Ridge Adventures highly enough! I can't wait to go back and explore with them again!
Great experience- fun and safe. My wife is more outdoor experienced, I’m an inside cat. Thought I would struggle to keep up, but our guide (Jared) kept things well paced, and made the adventure great for both of us. Went into this with no expectations, and was really impressed. Our trek was fully planned, the equipment was great quality/clean- and we felt safe throughout the trip. Looking forward to going again soon!

I am an avid hiker but very new to backpacking. Going on a trip with Jared and Alpine Ridge Adventures was amazing. Not only did it take out the stress of finding/buying the right gear and packing, but he was also very educational and made me feel much more confident in my ability to backpack on my own one day.

I am a Black man from Houston, TX. So, I clearly have never been on a backpacking trip. Ever.
Jared made my experience extremely simple and satisfying. The gear was higher quality than I expected. The meals were A-plus and Texas-portioned (highly recommend the Thanksgiving dinner after a long day of hiking). I felt like I was in good hands and protected.
Jared is extremely knowledgeable and has a genuine passion for the outdoors. He really DOES this as a lifestyle.
I will definitely go again and will try to drag along my equally inexperienced Texan girlfriend.

When I spoke to Jared on the phone I explained some of the things I had in mind while also asking him for some suggestions on what we could do as he was the professional. As I'm a rookie at backpacking, he created a beginner level route for us while still surprisingly hitting much of my requests. Ended up camping on a lake with a jawdropping mountain backdrop looking over a campfire enjoying good company. I had to worry about absolutely nothing. Gear, route, food, everything was taken care of for me. All I had to do was show up and enjoy.
My hope is to attend a more advance hike next year with some friends. Until then, I'm going to take the knowledge given to me by Jared to improve my backpacking skills so can take even more advantage of this experience next year.
